The Top 5 Areas to Start A Business in New York

New York, one of the most diverse cities in the United States, is home to people of different colors and races. People come to the Big Apple to pursue higher education or find the job of their dreams. With New York being the top place for starting a business, it’s shouldn’t be a surprise that the past year saw a massive increase in educational, business, and trade services. With more than 200,000 companies established in New York City, 98 percent are small businesses.

Now, if you’re one who has decided to get up and build the company of your dreams, New York City is the best place to do it. However, starting a new venture comes with its share of challenges, like figuring out where exactly you should start. After all, New York has a land area of over 700 square kilometers and a population of more than 8.5 million.

To help you find out the best place for your business, here are five of the best areas chosen by many successful companies.

Suffern

Home to some of the best small businesses in New York City, Suffern Village is a top choice for people looking to start their venture.

Suffern is not only friendly to the people living there, but it’s also welcoming to startups. The affordable cost of living here ensures you can get an accessible office space NYC.

This village is 35 miles from Midtown Manhattan and has over 1,200 businesses, with each bringing in over $7 million in annual revenue.

Garden City

Home to Adelphi University and Nassau Community College, Garden City is another top spot for starting your own business.

About 54 minutes away from Midtown Manhattan, this incorporated village is home to famous business districts like Franklin Avenue, Seventh Street, and Roosevelt Field Shopping Mall. Each business in the area earns more than $1.4 million every year.

Glens Falls

Bringing an average annual revenue of $2.1 million per business, Glens Falls is another excellent place to find the perfect office space that NYC has to offer. The city even has a website where companies can promote themselves.

Also, the monthly housing costs around $912 per month, which is more affordable compared to others.

Mineola

Mineola is also known as the “Friendly Village.” This place in Nassau County has 17 businesses per 100 people and a station on the Long Island Railroad. It’s less than 30 miles away from NYC and has its own Mineola Chamber of Commerce that helps in cultivating and strengthening the businesses in the area.

Harrison

Located in Westchester County and about 25 miles northeast of midtown Manhattan, Harrison is one of the leading spots in New York to build a business.

Besides being one of the greatest places to live in New York, this coterminous town-and-village is also home to a ton of major corporations like PepsiCo, MasterCard, and Atlas Air Worldwide. The businesses in the area earn an average of $4.2 million each year.

Although there are still other areas that you can choose from, these are the big five for any startup. The choice is entirely up to you. If you get to select any of these places, do not hesitate to seek professional office finders to assist you. You can get them to do the legwork for you in finding the ideal office space for your business while you focus on other important business matters.
