An impression is a unit of exposure. So, as a result, you won’t get charged anything for no views in a day, but you might get charged a three-figure sum for thousands of clicks, thus why the focus is on budget and strategy.

Set Your Expectations Realistically

It’s natural to get carried away and believe that all 2 billion customers will see your campaign. And that every single one will pay for your services. In reality, you might find that your first few campaigns don’t work out as intended.

Therefore, it’s essential to stick to the plan. If you are still not sure, then your strategy isn’t strong enough and needs more solid evidence so that you can feel confident you’ve made the right decision.

That said, there’s nothing wrong with running a mini-campaign to conduct a smaller test. As a result, you can analyze the results and give yourself a better indication of how successful the results may be.

The price per engagement itself is trickier to pin down. Even YouTube themselves doesn’t directly address the question, beyond suggestions of several cents per click embedded in their help centers.

Ultimately, there is no direct answer but supply and demand.

If you are looking for maximum outreach, then you can quite easily spend into the thousands. If you’re starting, YouTube recommends $10 per day, and that’s probably a fair amount to test the water to see how much revenue you can generate.
