Breaking Down the Many Infographic Types

Did you know that infographics are nearly 30 times more attractive than regular text and they have a much higher chance of being read by large audiences? That’s because the brain is designed to process visual data quicker than written text, making infographics the perfect tool to convey ideas and information.

But what infographic types should you use when you want to present facts and statistics? Are certain types of infographics more suitable than others? Keep reading this article to find out more about various infographics and what are they best used for.

The Visualized Article Infographic

This is a common type of infographic that works well on social media. It’s used to make the information contained by an article more visual and easy to grasp. This type of infographic usually contains a lot of statistics and facts as well as a strong and enticing title. You can also add a few visual elements such as pie charts or graph bars to make everything more eye-catching and easy to understand.

The Timeline Infographic

This type of infographic is ideal if you want to present a series of events in a straight line. It’s a common design that gets a lot of shares and provides a visual representation of history or progress made by a person or company. The timeline infographics can be complex or simple and you can add additional text for each even to describe something interesting.

The Versus Infographic

This is a self-explanatory infographic type. You can use it if you have a lot of data and you need to compare two elements. On one side of the infographic, you present the first element and the other side deals with the second element that gets an equal amount of space. You can add multiple comparison lines in between the two elements, allowing readers to easily pick their favorite or grasp the message you want to convey. You can also use an infographic maker to create a custom infographic design in seconds!

The Statistical Infographic

If you have a lot of data, facts, and statistics to display in an organized and intuitive manner then a statistical infographic is likely the ideal choice. This infographic has multiple charts, graph bars, and other visual elements that accurately display percentages and other types of information. Under the visual elements, you can also add a few details, references, and additional facts if necessary.

The Map or Geographic Infographic

This type of infographic is also self-explanatory. It displays a map of the world in different colors for each country or region. On the sides of the infographic, you have plenty of space for a legend and additional visual elements that display facts or statistics. The map infographic is very easy to use and customize, that’s why is so popular on the internet.

Now You Know the Main Infographic Types and How to Use Them!

As you can see, various infographic types are best used for different purposes such as creating a visual article, showcasing complex data or displaying a series of historical events. It’s up to you to find the correct template and create an infographic that gets a lot of shares quickly!
