6 Free Digital Tools Every Start-Up Business Should Be Using

Man working on a project using futuristic digital tablet

No matter how brilliant your idea for a start-up business is, you’re bound to struggle if you don’t have the proper tools.

And fortunately, there are plenty of digital tools that will cost you nothing!

We’ve outlined six of our favorite digital tools that every start-up company should use, so keep reading to find out how you can gain a competitive advantage without spending a penny!

1. HootSuite

It doesn’t matter what industry you’re in, it’s impossible to grow a business without a strong social media presence. At the same time, managing multiple social accounts can feel like a juggling routine; there’s so much to keep up with.

HootSuite makes the process simpler by offering an easy to understand dashboard-based approach, so you can manage all of your social channels from one page.

The free version allows users to manage up to three platforms and schedule 30 messages in advance.

2. ManyChat

Many users contact business pages to resolve customer service issues. The longer they’re kept waiting, the less likely they are to do business with that company again. Yet you can’t have someone online 24/7.

The next best thing is a chatbot.

Chatbots can help customers with basic questions and information like hours, directions, and contact info. Or, if an issue is complex, a chatbot can alert a customer service rep to the customer’s issue.

ManyChat takes the technical challenge out of creating a chatbot. In the time it takes to read this article, you could create a fully-functional bot!

3. Google Analytics

Google remains the world’s largest search engine, so you can feel confident that its analytics platform is still the best around. And it doesn’t hurt that it’s still free after all these years.

With Google Analytics, users can get a complete picture of their business’ online presence, no matter how broad or narrow.

Analytics also features free training courses to help you expand your audience, making it one of the most impressive free tools on the market.

4. Asana

No matter how large or small your team is, managing productivity can be a challenge.

With Asana, you can see what your team members are working on and how far along in the process they are.

The free version is a bit limited, but if you’re operating with a smaller team, you should be able to get away with it.

5. Mailchimp

Email marketing is still a major cornerstone of the digital marketing world. For our money (or lack thereof in this case) Mailchimp remains the most user-friendly and robust platform out there.

While similar programs give a bite-sized sampler of features, Mailchimp gives away the whole meal, including A/B testing, contact list integration, and so much more.

6. Grammarly

It’s tough to ensure your business is taken seriously. That goes double if your copy is full of embarrassing grammatical errors. That’s why you’ll want to sign up for a free Grammarly account.

Grammarly is a program that looks for spelling errors, unnecessary words, and syntactical errors.

While it isn’t perfect, it’s a lot more effective than spellcheck.

Give Your Start-Up Business a Competitive Edge With These Tools

All of these tools are perfect for your start-up business, no matter its size. Be sure to try these programs today!
